Its job is to sweep the ice from the storage area down into the glass when pressed. The part attaches via a thin hinge and can break with constant use. It may also become damaged by impact during the ice making process, causing a need for replacement. If this part is damaged, the ice maker may fail to operate until it is replaced because the ice can become jammed or blocked and there is no mechanism to release the ice door. Replacing the paddle requires a screwdriver to access the paddle, but no tools are required for the actual paddle replacement. This paddle is sold individually.
